The above is a web-forum I run for retired Merchant Seamen. I am researching my family history and in particular my great grandfather Timothy O'Dwyer place of berth Clonmel, Co. Tipperary DO Baptism 30/7/1841. I know his father's name was also Timothy and he was also born in Clonmel, I also know my great grandfather dropped the 'O'from the family name when they arrived in Liverpool,Uk circa 1876.
