The hackers over at the PowerShot Programming group on Yeehah! have come up with the goods. Emboldened by the Windows port of s10sh, a GNU/Linux program that interfaces with my Powershot from the command line, I've now got Tetris, DirView, SysInfo and Histogram on my playback menu. And for those willing to try, apparently you can replace your firmware.

Warning - no guarantees!! Files downloaded from this site are virus free, but their correct functioning is not guaranteed by me.

You load up programs by putting the files (usually a pair of files with the same name and EXE & INI extensions e.g. TETRIS.EXE & TETRIS.INI) into the DC97/MISC folder of your compact flash card.

This can be done with the card in the camera, using the USB connection and s10sh or wins10sh, or using a card reader, just by copying the files in using your file browser (if you can't run wins10sh or s10sh).

Then, with the camera in Playback mode, press the MENU button, and scroll down to see your new programs!
