Frank Brophy (Joe's brother in-law) lent me Delaney's Corner to read as I grew up in Warrnambool. My mother is from one of the old Irish families but we're still in the early stages of exploring our family tree. Lo and behold on, page 33 I read that after Thomas Delaney's first wife, Ann, died he married Mary Wilson. Following Thomas' death Mary married John Carnody and they had 7 children. Mary and John are my Great Great Grandparents on my mother's maternal side. Also, John Carmody's father Rodreck Carmedy (sic) is mentioned as a Petitioner for the Proposed Subdivision of Delaney's Land. My first cousin on my father's side, Patricia O'Donnell is married to Bobby (Robert) Toleman, a descendant of John and Bridget Delaney. Amazing! In my family we say the degree of separation is often 0 rather than 6. Fabulous book. Thank you.
