Please note: it has become increasingly popular to put links and advertising for questionable sites into guestbooks all across the web, in an attempt to drive up traffic to those sites. To this end, I have disabled links in guestbook messages, and, unlike many, I will keep this guestbook open for the role it gives in sharing family details, and manually clean out the spam messages when they arrive.

Hi there long lost cousins, etc.
My grandfather William and his family came over to South Africa in the early 1900s. Unfortunately we have no records so I am unable to go further back into our history. But is is lovely to see that there are so many of us Delaneys around.
God Bless
Issy

Hi Joe,

Thanks very much for your reply. You have really done a great job with the Delaney history.

I found the interview with Brigid Delaney facinating and I've ordered her book on Amazon. Our project will include a powerpoint of the Delaney family tree and a discussion of Brigid's book.

Best regards to you and your family,
Liz.

Hi Elizabeth
Great to see your posting on facebook. I am your grandmother's youngest brother. I had a great time meeting up with your mum her sisters brother and cousins in Warrnambool recently. Re Delaney writers see a recent pasting on our site - an interview by Annabel Crabb with brigid Delaney(your second cousin), who wrote the book This Restless Life. Go to Introduction then Updates. To see the text of the Delaney family history that I wrote go to DELANEYS CORNER BOOK in the site index Let's know if you want any more info.

Hi All, I found this website by googling my name :-) My mother Colleen Noade (nee Hughes) and her mother Phylis Hughes (nee Beasley) and her father John Beasley...

Well that's how I'm related to the Delaney's. My father is John Noade and still living he is turning 70 this year and I am turning 41 this year. We live on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

If you need any further details please email me at happyjackie@hotmail.com

I have a facebook page too (Jacqueline Yeung-Noade), a google account, a linked in account, msn account and twitter account...so your sure to find me.

It's great to be part of the Irish...however I've now mixed it up a bit more as I married Hong Kong Chinese haha and both my boys were born in Australia, Queensland on the Gold Coast.

Feel free to email!

Cheers!

Jac :-)

Hello all fellow Delaneys!

My name is Liz (Elizabeth), grand-daughter of Margaret Kelly (nee Delaney). I grew up in Warrnambool and vagely remember the family reunion in 1983 (I was only 4). My mum, Kathleen Kelly mentioned that the recent reunion was pretty enjoyable.

I live in Denmark these days and I'm studying to become a teacher. As part of my degree, I'm working together with two other student teachers on Irish migration into the major english-speaking countries. The Delaneys will be featured in developing a teaching resource we can use in our teaching rounds.

Part of the project is looking at how the Irish have influenced the english langauge. I was wondering if any of you are aware of any literature writen by the Delaneys, either in Ireland or Australia, that we could use?

All help is apprecited in advance!

Incidentally, the parents of Jimmy Delaney of Celtic were from Clonbrock/ Crettyard and Kilgory, Newtown, Queen's County (now County Laois), Ireland, and moved to Omoa/ Cleland (District of Shotts) in Scotland just after the 1900s.

Jimmy Delaney of Celtic was my grandfather. Why is he "infamous"? On the contrary, he was extremely well respected for his sportsmanship and achievements.

And I have researched his family tree extensively, and don't know of any Bills on it. I would be interested in the link.

I was recently in Lourdes, helping the sick pilgrims and i met a man called Bill who was a relation of Jimmy Delaney the infamous Celtic legend. I cant remember Bill's last name however but i do know that his wife passed away a year ago and that he has grandchildren that play football. The reason i ask is because he told that i must go and see one of them as they'd play for England one day. The only other thing i know is that he lives near or in middlesbrough.

I am researching my family and would like any information on a Phillip Delaney living in Lansingburgh, NY in 1865. He married Margaret Flynn. Both Phillip and Margaret were from Ireland. My grandmother was Rose Delaney, born 1873 in NY and was raised in the St. Vincent's Orphanage in Troy, NY. There may have been other children, possibly Ann, Mary, and/or Dennis. Rose married Hiram Thorn in Troy, NY November 3, 1904 and moved to Washington State. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.

My great grandfather Cornelious Delaney was born in 1829 and moved from Tipperary Ireland to the US in 1849 with his father. He marriad a woman from Muscatine Iowa whose last names was Williams. I am enjoying this site because I am sure that we are related even though our families moved to different countries. Anyone related or have more information that would be great.
